As the new Head, DEI, reporting to the Deputy Principal, you will lead Branksome’s strategic vision, plan and initiatives related to diversity, equity and inclusion in alignment with the school’s mission and values. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team the Head of DEI, in collaboration with school leaders, faculty, staff, and students, will spearhead the implementation of Branksome’sDEI Multi-Year Action Plan: 2023-27; launch frameworks to build capacity in students and employees to thrive in polarizing times and engage in courageous conversations. The successful candidate will lead programs that integrate principles of equity, belonging, and inclusion, into curriculum design and delivery and provide expertise in the implementation of systems and practices in Admissions, Human Resources, Communications, and Marketing that foster a culture of inclusion, belonging, and equity.
The ideal candidate will be conversant on issues and best practices of diversity, social justice, courageous conversations, inclusivity, and equity, including anti-oppression education, systemic racism and discrimination, and will bring an inspiring vision to the Branksome community in pursuit of these goals. Experience working at the leadership level of an educational institution is highly desirable. The new Head of DEI must have exceptional communication and facilitation skills; be well versed at engaging in matters that require sensitivity, nuance, empathy, and creative problem-solving; and have the ability to build collegial relationships with a wide range of constituents. They will be a transparent, values-driven leader and a strategic partner with a high level of emotional intelligence and a commitment to living the values, mission, and vision of Branksome Hall.
